The ever-present theme in this book is forgiveness. Not the type of forgiveness between feuding friends, but being able to forgive yourself. Roald Dahl showed this by sharing memories he isn't quite fond of. If he wasn't able to forgive himself of embarrassing moments of making a mistake he wouldn't have so many great stories to share "Forgive and forget.", not only applies to friendships, but to yourself. His blunders made for an amazing novel the truly paid off.
Yet another of plentiful themes is living life to the fullest, and Dahl did exactly that. Dahl knew what life was supposed to be and He always skipped from one exhilarating moment to another. If I were to describe made it his utmost goal to achieve it to the best of his abilities. Roald's life in one word I would actually say full. Dahl knew the secret to life, so I believe he expressed subtly through this fantasizing book.
I would (and will) recommend this book to anyone who will listen. This book dictates a life full of joy and humor. Dahl was a magnificent writer with plenty to share and this was the way he chose to use his abilities. Boy can make any one's day brighten, and replay hilarious memories for everyone. I hope that all people will be able at some point in their lives to read this amazing autobiography.
