Cooking Characters for Kids

'Twas a warm, sunny morning in Sitka, Alaska. Spring was alive in the air while birds chirped their melodic songs. All was quiet on this Sunday morning in the Murphy household. DUst drifted off the faint breeze and slowly slipped past the sunlight pouring through the windows and into the bright kitchen, when all of a sudden......

"Achoo!" someone (or SOMETHING) sneezed abrubtly.

    "Bless you...," another lazily said.

"What's wrong Sugar? Are you turning blue?" yet another inquired.

      "Oh nothing."

This other character quickly interjected something about,"Not with food coloring blue," but with,"
Feelings and sadness."

Oh Flour, this is not a time for silly games, Sugar is bl-sad," he corrected himslef as to not cause another so called, "explanitory diversory," I could swear he didn't know what that really meant.

"It''s just, I'm lonely," explained Sugar.

"Why?! You have us!" the other two cried in unison.

     "But not a real family."

"Sure ya do!" Flour optimistically cheered.

"My dear friend Sugar. You never knew?" said this last character. "I am your cousin!"

So this last character must be Brown Sugar. I guess we'll find out. Suddenly, out of no where, came this airy "hee hoo" sound. Almost like the sound you use to show birthing mothers how to breathe, except much, much, slower.

"Luke! I am your father!" exclaimed Flour.

"Brown Sugar? Why was I not told?"

So there we have it. This last mystery man is indeed Brown Sugar.

"I... have no idea, but your troubles are gone. So it's all good."

All was laughing and smiles from then on. Happiness flooded the place in such a way, not to overwhelm the house. Sugar should have asked questions to get answers. Star wars references would be minimized, nerds kept quiet, but the fun left out.
